High-achieving, committed staff win promotions. However the skills they now need as leaders are different to their functional skills, they need to be able to inspire and coach others rather than do all the work themselves. They need the skills to develop clear strategies, prioritise tasks and delegate effectively. The most successful leaders also know how to handle critical conversations.

Significant problems arise when we shy away from difficult situations and difficult people. Sometimes we know we should address the issue but we tend not to because we are afraid of the other person’s reaction, or we don’t want to hurt their feelings.

It results in employees feeling stressed and frustrated because issues aren’t addressed, and valuable time and energy gets wasted doing ‘work arounds’.

Often projects are not completed to the timeframes and quality standards we envisage because we don’t address the issues that cause the ‘drag’.

In this 2 hour practical workshop you will learn:

    • How to give honest feedback without needing to be worried about the person’s reaction

    • How to manage your emotions well, especially in stressful situations

    • How to resolve disagreements or complaints with genuine agreement and dignity

    • The power of giving regular performance feedback, not just once a year in formal appraisals.

    Workshop Schedule

    Time: 7.30am to 9.30am

Leadership Masterclass: Critical Conversations (includes a plated Breakfast)

WSBC Members: 2 complimentary seats per member

Additional WSBC Member Seats: $20 + GST per person*

WSBC is delighted to welcome back the Premier of New South Wales, The Hon Gladys Berejiklian MP, who will deliver her second State of the Region Address on September 13 at the recently opened 5-star William Inglis Hotel, Warwick Farm.

It is often said that elections are won and lost in Western Sydney. In the run up to the 2019 state election, the Premier will share her Government’s plans to foster economic prosperity within the region.

What policies will the Berejiklian Government set in place to attract further investment and maximise the economic potential of Western Sydney’s big ticket items such as health, education, transport and the aerotropolis?

WSBC’s annual State of the Region address is Western Sydney’s key business leader luncheon. With 550 attendees at last year’s sold out event, the 2018 State of the Region Address is set to provide a great opportunity for you to engage with influential business leaders, generate leads and promote your business profile amongst the decision makers of Western Sydney.
